When will registration open?
Early-bird registration for LITapalooza is COMING SOON ! Click the Edu. Reg. & Info tab for the link and more information.
Can I bring my kids?
LITapalooza is for educators and authors, and sessions will be literacy- and education-focused. Kids will be able to attend KidLITapalooza in the afternoon of day 2! That will be a separate ticketed event.
Will there be CPDUs?
Yes! CPDUs for Illinois educators will be given through our education partner, Indian Prairie School District 204. A QR code will be made available at the end of each day to attendees in the building.
Will we be able to purchase books?
Yes! We will have a pop-up bookshop with a selection of books from author/illustrators who are joining us!
Will an educator discount be applied?
Yes! Anderson's Bookshops gives a 20% discount to items educators purchase for their classrooms or libraries, and this will be honored at LITapalooza.
Will there be food?
Yes! A variety of food trucks will be available to purchase lunch and snacks throughout day 1.

Who Are We?
In addition to the staff at Anderson's Bookshop, Team LITapalooza consists of two educators and one former teacher who believe in the idea that getting books into kids' hands can change the world.
Steph McHugh is Yorkville CUSD #115's first-ever Book Ambassador, a role that emerged after a decade in the classroom and many years as an elementary librarian. When she's not at school connecting with colleagues and families or planning school and community literacy events, you can find her visiting *all* the indie bookshops she can get to around the globe. After 10 years teaching elementary school, Lorie Barber became Anderson's Bookshops' Education Director, where she is lucky enough to continue her passion for literacy by working to get books into the hands of educators and their students. You can find Lorie on Instagram @barberchicago_books.

Katie Reilley has been teaching students in grades 3-5 for 26 years. She's currently employed by Kaneland School District 302 and teaches 4/5th grade ELA. When she's not in her classroom, you can find her scouring her local library and favorite indie bookstores, searching for the best picture books and middle grade novels to get into her students' hands.
